Luis Pablo

Luis Pablo is considered one of the top Oaxacan wood carving masters. He is known for his realistic carvings and contemporary use of color and painting techniques.     This magnificent gorilla is one his largest  and more detailed carvings.

Its eyes are very expressive, a characteristic of Luis Pablo's work. 
This is truly a museum quality work of art, not to be confused with the smaller commercial grade figures he a also produces.
